50 Best Da Nang Restaurants, Cafes, Markets And Bars

Wondering what and where to eat in Da Nang Vietnam? We spent over four months eating our way through the sprawling Central Vietnam metropolis. Discover our favorite spots from humble street food stands to more upscale Da Nang restaurants.

In its essence, Da Nang is a city that represents a new, interconnected world. The Central Vietnam city is a stew – a combination of native Vietnamese, expats from all corners of the world and an inordinate amount of South Koreans on holiday from cities like Seoul and Busan. And that’s not counting the assortment of crazy, rich Asian tourists looking to bask on the beach, play golf and live large.

Asian tourists flock to downtown Da Nang to watch the city’s Dragon Bridge literally spit fire and water or stop for a visit on their way to see the world-famous Golden Bridge at über-popular Bana Hills. However, many western tourists skip or pass through Da Nang quickly as they drift toward the historic, old world charm of Hoi An.

As for us, we’re drawn to the quiet (by Vietnam standards) Da Nang beach, fast internet and eclectic food options. We’re not alone. Da Nang has a burgeoning digital nomad community giving the city new life.

Da Nang for Digital Nomads
Da Nang rivals Chiang Mai as a top city for digital nomads in Southeast Asia thanks to the city’s reasonably priced food, apartments, internet and SIM cards. Add a sandy beach and an abundance of third wave coffee cafes (see below) to the mix, and Da Nang is hard to beat among digital nomad cities.

Traditional Vietnamese food in Da Nang is a key reason that we chose to spend over four months living and working in Da Nang. Located in the center of the country, places to eat in Da Nang feature regional specialties as well as countrywide Vietnam food favorites.

Dig deeper and you’ll find top Da Nang restaurants that push the envelope from global cuisine to fine dining.

When we consider the combination of family-run storefront noodle stands, corner Banh Mi hawkers, burger and barbecue joints along with notable world-class, gastronomic restaurants, we can confidently exclaim that “We love Da Nang”!

Da Nang Food Guide | Where To Eat In Da Nang

If you’re craving a certain food, you’ll likely find it in Da Nang. As for us, we often crave sushi. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Da Nang is a sprawling city with close to 1.5 million residents not counting the non-stop flow of visitors. Though much of the action happens in the busy city center, don’t underestimate the beach side of Da Nang.

In the shadow of majestic Son Tra, beach resorts lure a large number of Korean tourists who love to eat well while on holiday. Korean BBQ restaurants serving copious amounts of meat with sides of kimchi abound in the city’s thriving restaurant scene. The Koreans are also discerning about their coffee, which is perfectly fine with us.

Although Da Nang’s city center is known for having better food selections, we’ve discovered amazing and strange twists on western food in the beachside An Thuong neighborhood. As for Da Nang street food, we’ve found great stands on both sides of the river that should not be missed.

Pro Tip
Grab provides cost-effective transportation options in and around Da Nang. Download the app to your smartphone before you arrive in Da Nang if you plan to order a car at the airport.

As a bonus, eating well in Da Nang won’t break your bank. Adventurous diners can easily spend less than a dollar for noodle and rice dishes at food stalls all over the bustling city. These stalls, with simple tables and plastic chairs, may not be fancy but you won’t care about decor once you taste the fresh, bright, homestyle flavors of the food.

To us, eating classic Vietnamese food on little plastic chairs with locals is the essence of Danang food… but the city’s fine dining scene is equally exciting.

Our Da Nang food guide includes plenty of cheap eats as well as the best restaurants in Da Nang. We recommend spots on both sides of the Han River plus plenty of bars where you can wet your whistle with a beer, cocktail or cappuccino.

Don’t worry if you don’t eat meat – that’s the opposite of a problem in Da Nang. In other words, you won’t go hungry or thirsty with this Da Nang guide.

Traditional Vietnamese Restaurants

Vietnamese food keeps pulling us back to Vietnam. We literally dream about traditional Vietnamese food favorites when we’re based in other parts of the world.

You may be unfamiliar with Da Nang food as we were before our first visit. The food of Da Nang may not be as famous as Hanoi’s Pho and Hue’s Bun Bo, but the local Central Vietnamese city holds its own in comparison to the rest of the Southeast Asian country.

Meatball Pho at Pho 75 in Da Nang Vietnam
Move over Pho. Da Nang has its own regional cuisine with dishes like Mi Quang and Bun Cha Ca. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Though you may be able to find local favorites like Mì Quảng and Bánh Xèo in other Vietnamese cities, you haven’t truly tasted these dishes until you eat them in Da Nang. Getting hungry? Read on to see what you’ll be eating when you visit Da Nang.

Quang Style Noodles (Mì Quảng)

Mi Quang at Mi Quang Ba Mua in Danang Vietnam
This Mi Quang breakfast of champions cost under $5 US for two people including drinks. Note the fresh herbs and various condiments on the table. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Mi Quang – It’s what for breakfast in Da Nang.

Not to be confused with the item of the same name in Hoi An, Da Nang’s Mi Quang is a hearty concoction of wide rice noodles served atop a beefy broth with a choice of proteins and condiments. Think of Mi Quang as Vietnam’s answer to tagliatelle in Bologna, Italy.

Read to discover the best noodle dishes around the world.

In Da Nang, Mi Quang is served for breakfast just about everywhere and costs around 20,000 dong (about $0.90 USD). However, we recommend Mi Quang Ba Mua if you’re looking for a slightly better bowl of Mi Quang. This local chain serves a higher quality, slightly costlier version with more seasoned noodles and tastier broth along with a wide range of protein choices.

Pro Tip
Don’t skip the crispy cracker if you’re feeling extra hungry or want a bit of a crunch with your bowl of Mi Quang.

Mi Quang Ba Mua has multiple locations in Da Nang. We frequented the location at 40 Ngũ Hành Sơn, Bắc Mỹ Phú, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Sizzling Pancakes (Bánh Xèo)

Ba Duong in Da Nang Vietnam
Sizzling pancakes are just part of a Banh Xeo feast at Bà Dưỡng in Da Nang. Other elements include rice paper, cabbage, cucumbers, herbs, liver sauce and meat on a stick. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Banh Xeo is served in slightly different incarnations all over South Vietnam, but there’s nothing quite like the Banh Xeo served in Da Nang at Bánh Xèo Bà Dưỡng (pronounced bah zwong). To the unfamiliar, Banh Xeo, which translates to sizzling pancakes, are rice and turmeric flour crepes filled with bean sprouts, shrimp and pork.

At Bà Dưỡng, Banh Xeo are piled high on platters along with side dishes of cucumbers, greens like mint and lettuce, raw bean sprouts, kebab-like sausage on wooden sticks and ultra-thin rice paper wrappers. The idea is to wrap the Banh Xeo inside the thin rice wrappers along with as many sides that you can fit in.

Banh Xeo in Da Nang Vietnam
Making a Banh Xeo ‘sandwich’ is part of the fun at Ba Durong. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Here’s the best part: You dip the wraps in the greatest sauce on earth – a special savory concoction made of peanut and pork liver. Bà Dưỡng’s version of this savory, creamy, funky sauce truly separates the restaurant from all other Banh Xeo joints in Da Nang.

Bà Dưỡng is a large ultra-bright space with a number of tables suited to both a group of four or a large party of friends. The white room buzzes with excitement with a crowd of Da Nang locals happily munching on their Banh Xeo.

Arriving at Bà Dưỡng at night may be the most special part of the dining experience. The restaurant is located at the end of one of the most charming Da Nang downtown alleys adorned with hanging multi-colored lights that will make you feel like you’re headed toward Banh Xeo heaven.

Pro Tip
If you can’t figure out how to eat your Bành Xéo just look toward a nearby table and observe how the locals do it. You’ll get the hang quickly.

Bánh Xèo Bà Dưỡng is located at 14 Hoàng Diệu, Bình Hiên, Q. Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Fish Ball Noodle Soup (Bún Chả Cá)

Bowl of Bun Cha Ca at Bun Cha Ca Hon in Da Nang Vietnam
If you’ve eaten Bun Cha and Cha Ca in Hanoi, then you may have an idea of what Bun Cha Ca is all about. You’re wrong. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

We went to Bún Chả Cá Hờn on the city side of Da Nang to try this regional Vietnamese food favorite. Upon arrival, we found big bowls of fish broth loaded with fish cakes, Bun (vermicelli rice noodles), cabbage, tomato, pineapple and bamboo shoots. We added fresh herbs and pickled veggies plus Mắm Ruốc (shrimp paste) to the bowl because that’s what you do in Da Nang when you eat Bun Cha Ca.

Just one slurp was a revelation. The broth was more complex than Pho with a fishiness that didn’t overpower the soup’s other flavors. The fish cakes were spongy enough to be interesting. And the added fermented shrimp paste gave the bowl a funkiness that travelers either love or hate. We loved it.

Pro Tip
Locals typically eat Bun Cha Ca for breakfast but you can eat it for lunch or dinner too.

Bún Chả Cá Hờn is located at 113/3 Nguyễn Chí Thanh, Hải Châu 1, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Banh Canh (Bánh Canh)

Banh Canh Bich in Da Nang Vietnam

Soon after our arrival in Da Nang, we received a tip from savvy expat Sam McCommon. He recommended his favorite Banh Canh shop diagonally across from the Vinmart on Châu Thị Vĩnh Tế in Da Nang’s beachside, expat-dominated Mỹ An district.

This tip created three questions: 1. What the heck is Banh Canh? 2. When is this restaurant, called Bìch Bánh Canh, ever open? (We walked past the stand a number of times with little success.) 3. How good is this place?

We found our answers to all of the above questions.

First and most important, Banh Canh noodles are extruded medium thick noodles made from either tapioca flour, rice flour or a combination of both served in a rich broth.

Banh Canh at Banh Canh Bich in Da Nang Vietnam
If you’ve never eaten Banh Canh then you’re missing out. Look at the array of flavors on this table. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

At Bìch Bánh Canh, noodles are served in a beefy broth with a small morsel of pork short rib on the bone along with slices of Vietnamese fish cake. Bìch serves their brothy stew with boned shaped fresh fry bread (Bánh Quẩy) for dipping.

The soup at Bìch Bánh Canh is rich and sophisticated, the noodles have an al dente chewiness unique to glassy tapioca noodles and the thick slices of pork are a tasty, homey treat. The broth absorbing, donut-like Banh Quay bread adds extra texture and flavor.

Bargain hunters will be happy to hear we regularly ate at Bìch Bánh Canh for less than the equivalent of $3 US for two people. And who doesn’t like a bargain when it tastes this good?

Pro Tip
Bìch Bánh Canh is open most days of the week from 3 pm until the shop runs out of food around 8 pm. (We’re still trying to figure out whether they close on Sunday or Monday. Ahh, the joys of business ownership in Vietnam!)

Bich Banh Canh is located at 178 Châu Thị Vĩnh Tế, Bắc Mỹ Phú, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Pho (Phở)

Breakfast at Pho 75 in Da Nang Vietnam
Though Pho is more of a typical breakfast food in Hanoi and Saigon, the iconic Vietnamese food is also available in Da Nang. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Unlike Saigon and Hanoi, Da Nang is not a big Pho city, with most people starting their day with local specialties like Mi Quang instead. However, we get that some visitors to Vietnam want Pho regardless of the city. If you’re one of those visitors, you’ll find a plethora of Pho shops sprinkled throughout Da Nang.

Phở 75 is a decent spot for a morning bowl of southern Pho. After customers choose noodles and proteins, workers ladle their slightly sweet soup out and serve it Saigon-style with lots of condiments. We opted for beef and meatballs for our proteins and Pho noodles of course. Fresh herbs, hot bean sprouts as well as hot and sweet sauces completed our Pho creations.

Pro Tip
Specify that you want a Tô Lớn (i.e. big) bowl of Pho. Otherwise, you will be charged for a Tô Đặc Biệt (special) bowl of Pho. The difference between the two is seemingly negligible.

Phở 75 is located at Q. Hải Châu, 62 Ngô Gia Tự, Q. Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng, Vietnam.

Baguette Sandwiches (Bánh Mì̀)

Banh Mi at Chi Lanh in Da Nang Vietnam
Wondering what to eat in Da Nang? Banh Mi is usually a good choice. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Banh Mi is the unofficial snack in Da Nang with vendors all over town selling sandwiches from mobile metal carts. Though nearby Hoi An arguably serves the best Banh Mi sandwiches in Vietnam, Da Nang’s sandwich game is strong and rarely disappoints in terms of quality, creativity and selection.

The good sisters at Banh Mi Thit Heo Quay don’t mess around when they make their popular morning sandwiches. Their stand closes when they run out of food, which is usually around or before 10 am. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Most Da Nang Banh Mi vendors sell sandwiches loaded with pork, paté, veggies, herbs and chili sauce, though others mix it up with toppings like chicken and pork floss. Some even prepare Banh Mi on round Portuguese rolls. Once you find one you love, you’ll surely be back for one of the best sandwiches in the world.

Pro Tip
Prices vary between 10,000 to 25,000 dong depending on the location and the mood of the vendor. You’ll rarely spend more than the equivalent of $1 US for a Banh Mi in Da Nang.

Banh Mi Thit Heo Quay is located at 24 Phan Đình Phùng, Hải Châu 1, Q. Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Homestyle Vietnamese Food

Bep Hen in Da Nang Vietnam
Bep Hen’s menu is a treasure trove for both vegetarians and carnivores. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Bep Hen is a great choice for travelers wanting to try homestyle Vietnamese food. Unlike the typical Mi Quang or Banh Canh shack, Bep Hen prepares the kind of food that Vietnamese families enjoy around their dinner table. This city-side restaurant serves homestyle food in an eclectically decorated multi-level restaurant. Expect big flavors for reasonable prices when you dine at Bep Hen.

The menu spans multiple pages and includes dozens of options including soups and dishes with vegetables, tofu, eggs, fish, shrimp, pork and chicken. Despite exotic ingredients like fermented shrimp paste and bitter melon, most dishes at Bep Hen are accessible for all levels of eaters.

Pro Tip
The restaurant’s name translates to lucky kitchen, which is how we felt when we joined friends for dinner at Bep Hen.

Bep Hen Restaurant is located at 47 Lê Hồng Phong, Phước Ninh, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Chicken and Rice (Cơm Gà)

Com Ga at Com Ga A Hai in Danang Vietnam
If you think chicken and rice is boring, think again. Com Ba A Hai serves versions with shredded chicken and whole pieces. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

If Mi Quang is what’s for breakfast then Cơm or rice is what’s for lunch. You’ll find food like Mi Quang or Pho if you look hard enough, but, if you need lunch and need it quickly, you’ll easily find a huge number of Com places in the afternoon around Da Nang.

While these rice stalls serve a variety of meats to customers, two seem to be the most common: Rice with grilled pork chop (Cơm Sườn Nướng) and Chicken Rice (Cơm Gà). Some stands sell long grain rice while others sell cơm tấm, Vietnamese broken rice with shorter grains that are broken when milled.

Many of these rice stands are like American cafeterias. Along with the choices outlined above, other options include a variety of meat and fish as well as sunny side up eggs and tofu. However, some stands only serve chicken.

Crowds flock to Cơm Gà A Hải where part of the fun is watching busy cooks in action. These cooks fry precooked birds which are tightly stacked in large baskets, ready for a trip to the wok for their crunchy finish. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Cơm Gà A Hải is a large stand in Hải Châu that specializes in Chicken Rice, frying their roasted unbreaded birds in a wok and serving them with bright orange annato rice. The resulting chicken is super flavorful with a slight crunch – ideal for a great lunch in Da Nang.

You can order your chicken either whole, in parts or shredded. We recommend you order whole pieces of chicken since the Vietnamese prefer rubbery textures of skin or cartilage in their shredded meats.

Pro Tip
Hungry for chicken and rice for dinner instead of lunch? Cơm Gà A Hải is open until midnight seven days a week.

Cơm Gà A Hải is located at 94 – 100 Thái Phiên, Phước Ninh, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Butter Cakes (Bánh Bơ)

Donut Place in Danang Vietnam
These butter cakes at Quan Banh Bo are getting ready for their debut… on our plates. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Thanks to a coffee shop recommendation, we were pleased to find Quán Bánh Bơ, a business whose name literally translates to Butter Cake Shop. What could be bad about butter cakes?

As it turns out, these butter cakes are even better than we expected. The shop’s staff fries the sweet yet savory treats to order and serves them with chili sauce. These puffy, yeasty treats have traces of corn in their flavor profile but the dense, airy texture reminds us of donuts.

Discover more great donuts eaten around the world.

Chili sauce on donuts? Yes! It’s a new guilty pleasure, at least while we’re in Da Nang. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Locals queue up to buy bags of Bánh Bơ to take away, but we prefer eating them in the shop when they’re hot off the griddle. As a bonus, it’s easier to drizzle chili sauce when sitting down.

Pro Tip
On a budget? Six of these bad boys cost the equivalent of $1.25 US at the time of our visits. Score!

Quán Bánh Bơ is located at 55 Bà Huyện Thanh Quan, Bắc Mỹ An, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Seafood (Hải Sản)

Fishing Boats in Da Nang Vietnam
Fishermen troll the South China Sea in Da Nang for some of the world’s freshest seafood. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

With its long coastline and active fishing culture, Da Nang is one of the premier Vietnam locations to enjoy a seafood feast. Scores of seafood restaurants line fill the city’s beachfront, many crowded with boisterous tourists happy to spend their vacation dollars on plates topped with freshly cooked shellfish and hotpots loaded with Vietnam fruits de mer.

As budget-conscious food travelers, we targeted Nam Danh Seafood on our quest to find where locals eat seafood in Da Nang. In a nutshell (or should we say clamshell?), we wanted to eat amazing dishes without breaking our bank. Off the beaten track in the Son Tra neighborhood, Nam Danh met all of our Da Nang seafood goals.

Hai San at Nam Danh Seafood in Da Nang Vietnam
We enjoyed this Hai San seafood feast at Nam Danh Seafood in Da Nang. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Locals flock to Nam Danh to eat seafood like crab, squid, octopus, snails, oysters and clams. For our meal, we shared heaping plates of grilled shrimp, grilled oysters with green onions, spicy cuttlefish and crabs in a spicy tamarind sauce.

Flavors were big during our seafood feast but prices were small. Our bill for all this food plus beer was less than the equivalent of $12 US for both of us.

Pro Tip
Use Google Maps or another mapping tool to find Nam Danh Seafood. This restaurant is located on an alley several blocks from busy streets.

Nam Danh Seafood is located at 139/59/38 Trần Quang Khải, Thọ Quang, Sơn Trà, Đà Nẵng, Vietnam.

Top Da Nang Restaurants

Tomato Soup at La Maison 1888 in Da Nang Vietnam
Splurging on a luxury meal in Da Nang completes any exploration of the city’s culinary scene. We splurged on lunch at La Maison 1888 where we ate this bowl of Tomato Soup with jambon cru, blue cheese, fresh soya, carpaccio of marinated mackerel with yuzu and black pepper. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Many tourists solely focus on cheap eats at local Da Nang restaurants. We get that. Expats and Vietnam digital nomads often travel with tight budgets. However, overly frugal travelers are missing out on an important aspect of the Da Nang cuisine story.

Top Da Nang restaurants combine local Vietnamese ingredients with global culinary techniques. The results are often exciting and frequently extraordinary.

We recommend the following restaurants when you choose to splurge in Da Nang:

La Maison 1888

Red Mullet at La Maison 1888 in Da Nang Vietnam
La Maison 1888 officially started our meal with pressed red mullet and garlic toast with anchovies. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

“The cuisine of Pierre Gagnaire is art. It is love. It is technique.”

Recognized by the World Travel Awards as the world’s leading fine dining hotel restaurant, La Maison 1888 is the most splurge-worthy restaurant in Da Nang – if not in all of Vietnam. Pierre Gagnaire brings the expertise of a three Michelin star chef to La Maison 1888 where his culinary team serves French cuisine in a classic colonial setting.

The lauded restaurant’s accolades and pedigree inspired us to make a lunch reservation. We were curious about how a Vietnamese hotel would approach the highest level of French dining. Since Gagnaire isn’t physically on the property at all times, we wondered if his vision would be achieved during our lunch.

After our bite into martini olive gelee cubes, we were entranced. By the time we popped Parmesan balls masquerading as gougères into our mouths, we were convinced that food travelers can enjoy an exquisite French meal in Da Nang. Four courses later, we knew that we had experienced a world-class meal in one of the world’s most beautiful dining rooms.

Server at at La Maison 1888 in Da Nang Vietnam
Ton Van Nho (Nick) provided impeccable service during our lunch at La Maison 1888 from the amuse bouches to these petit fours. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Dining at La Maison 1888 is not something that travelers can choose to do on a lark. The restaurant requires advance reservations and institutes a dress code. While less costly by western standards, La Maison is substantially more expensive than the typical Da Nang restaurant – and that’s before the cost of a Grab car or taxi is contemplated.

With these caveats in mind, we say plan ahead and go to La Maison 1888 for lunch or dinner. Start or end your meal with drinks at the L_O_N_G Bar (see below). When you look back on your Da Nang vacation, this meal will likely be a highlight, if not THE highlight, of the entire trip.

Pro Tip
If you’re on a budget, consider lunch instead of dinner. The cost is lower but the experience is spectacular.

La Maison 1888 is located at Hoàng Sa, Thọ Quang, Sơn Trà, Đà Nẵng, Vietnam.

Nén Restaurant – Permanently Closed

Roasted Pork in Lace Rice Sheets at Nen in Da Nang Vietnam
Banh Hoi Thit Quay, Roasted Pork Wrapped in Lace Rice Sheets features delicate nets of rice noodles topped with savory pork. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Local Danang restaurant Nén celebrates local food while elevating it to the next level. Though popular with Korean, Chinese and Japanese tourists staying at 5-star Danang hotels, Nén is not yet on the radar for many western travelers but it should be.

Helmed by local food celebrity Summer Le, Nén offers a fine dining option in Da Nang with its upscale dining room and three degustation menus. The restaurant recommends its refined Vietnamese menu for first-time visitors and its new Vietnamese menu for adventurous diners. Vegans and Vegetarians get a green menu as a third option.

Bun Bo at Nen in Da Nang Vietnam
This Bun Bo is one of Che Le’s favorites. The spicy lemongrass soup was loaded with beef shank, meatballs and rice vermicelli. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

As both first-time visitors and adventurous diners, we were torn on which tasting menu to order for our meal. Since Nén’s policy does not allow tables to select different menus, we ultimately opted for the refined Vietnamese menu to sample elevated versions of regional food favorites like a beefy brothed Bún Bò and delicate nests of Bánh Hỏi rice noodles.

Pro Tip
Expect a multi-course extravaganza when you dine at Nén. Servers present the three courses with finesse, taking time to explain each dish.

Nén was located at Lô 20 Mỹ Đa Tây 2, Khuê Mỹ, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng, Vietnam. It is now permanently closed.

Fish Dance Cafe – Permanently Closed

Sashimi at Fish Dance Cafe in Da Nang Vietnam
We shared this sashimi lunch patter at Fish Dance Cafe. Next time we’re each getting our own. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Opened by Chizuru Tanaka, a native of Kobe Japan, Fish Dance Cafe serves sushi and sashimi in a serene two-story restaurant. Though Tanaka sources ultra-fresh fish from local vendors, she imports wasabi and other ingredients from Japan. The results are as good as sushi and sashimi we’ve eaten in Osaka.

Don’t worry if you’re not a fan of raw fish. Fish Dance Cafe serves cooked specialties like smoked oysters and smoked duck. But, if you’re a fan like us, this is where you should eat in Da Nang when you want to scratch your sushi itch.

Pro Tip
Go to Fish Dance Cafe during lunch time and order the sashimi lunch set with salmon, fatty tuna and mackerel plus miso soup, steamed rice and pickled vegetables. For the equivalent of $12 (subject to change), the set is a tremendous value considering its quantity and quality.

Fish Dance Cafe was located at 32 Phan Bội Châu, Thạch Thang, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam. It is now permanently closed.

Pizza 4P’s

Pizza at 4Ps in Da Nang Vietnam
Pizza 4P’s is not shy with their burrata. Hidden beneath the creamy goodness is an anchovy pie. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Since pizza is more of a luxury food in Vietnam due to specialty ingredients like cheese and cured meat, it’s important to know where to find the best pizza in any given Vietnamese city. Da Nang has several pizzerias on both sides of the river, but the best Da Nang pizza is at Pizza 4P’s.

Originally opened in Saigon by Japanese expats who fell in love with Neapolitan pizza, 4P’s has multiple locations in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi plus one in Da Nang. Beyond ingredient sourcing, the owners’ impeccable attention to the art of pizza making is exemplary.

You’ll find the similarity to Neapolitan pizza to be startling but also unique twists like whole, creamy burrata and housemade chili sauce. The Da Nang location serves a few special pies as well as a signature Yuzu Wheat beer crafted by local brewery Seven Bridges (see below).

Pro Tip
Make an advance reservation to avoid pizza disappointment. Pizza 4P’s is one of the most popular Danang restaurants.

Pizza 4P’s is located at 8 Hoàng Văn Thụ, Phước Ninh, Đà Nẵng, 550000, Vietnam.

Fatfish Restaurant & Lounge Bar

Duck at Fatfish Restaurant in Danang Vietnam
This duck breast served with soba noodles is what’s typically on the menu at Fatfish. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

There are a number of restaurants along the Han River offering a great view of the Dragon Bridge on weekend nights and Fatfish is one of them. This restaurant serves a variety of Asian, French and Italian classics along with good, but not great, pizza. Luckily, 4p’s (see above) is nearby if you’re in the mood for great pizza.

The picture above says it all with its combination of soba noodles, green beans and magret de canard. (The duck breast was tasty despite being a tad overcooked to medium well.)

In our view, Fatfish is a great place to enjoy a western-style, riverside, moderately priced splurge meal. When you go, be sure to order a craft beer to go with your food.

Pro Tip
If you’re craving a western treat after your dinner there’s a Baskin Robbins right down the street. This may not sound special but, if you’ve been in Vietnam for a while, there’s nothing like a cone of Rocky Road to end your evening.

Fatfish Restaurant & Lounge Bar is located at 439 Đường Trần Hưng Đạo, An Hải Trung, Sơn Trà, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Global Cuisine in Da Nang

Lunch for Two at Mr. Thinh in Da Nang Vietnam
Fried chicken in Da Nang is just one of the global foods readily available for hungry travelers. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

As much as we adore traditional Vietnamese food and the occasional splurge meal, sometimes we want to eat global cuisine that reminds us of home. Based on the number of international restaurants in Da Nang, we’re not unique in this regard.

A popular holiday destination for Asian nationals and a growing expat enclave, Da Nang has restaurants that represent the gamut of global cuisine at all price points. After eating at many of these restaurants for ‘research purposes’, these are our favorites spots for global cuisine in Da Nang:

American BBQ At Eazy Pickins – Permanently Closed

Dinner for Two at Eazy Pickins in Danang Vietnam
The Big Bubba platter at Eazy Pickens is big enough to share with two different meats, two different sides, handmade pickles and a dinner roll. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Having traveled the world for years, we’ve grown skeptical when locals recommend American food overseas. We’ve been through the disappointment of hamburgers that taste like meatloaf, overpriced guacamole mixed table side (you had to see that to believe it) and tacos that tasted more like falafels.

So when we were told that Eazy Pickins was the real deal, we couldn’t hide our skepticism.

But North Carolina native Jonni Olivares’ barbecue is the real deal. Don’t doubt our credentials. We’ve eaten world-class BBQ in American cities like Lockhart, Memphis and Kansas City as well as in global cities including Helsinki and Paris.

Jonni Olivares at Eazy Pickins in Danang Vietnam
Along with partner Valerie Anne La Monte, Jonni Olivares smokes up some mighty fine BBQ in Da Nang. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Olivares’ ridiculously meaty ribs, which he smokes from pork he specially imports from the USA, rank with the best we’ve tasted, and his locally sourced pulled pork lives up to his Carolina roots.

Eazy Pickins smokey fare is served six nights a week with three excellent sauces that include red “North Carolina Pig Pickin” (Mindi’s favorite) and blond “Carolina Gold Sauce” (Daryl’s favorite).

Pro Tip
Don’t skip the excellent sides. Our favorite is the creamy mac n cheese.

Eazy Pickins was located at 6 Trần Văn Dư, Mỹ An, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam. It is now permanently closed.

Italian Food at Torino Restaurant & Bakery

Focaccia at Torino in Da Nang Vietnam
Torino’s focaccia is one of our favorite things to eat in Da Nang. Between their two variations, we prefer the focaccia with black olives and red tomatoes. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Italian food is a treat for many long-term travelers who love pizza and pasta. Since we fit into this category, we were pleased to discover Torino, a local favorite that has been serving a full menu of Italian classics since 2004. With an owner originally from Torino and a chef who trained a Scuola Arte Bianca, Torino is fully committed to serving Italian cuisine.

Though we enjoyed taking a nostalgic trip to Italy when we shared a pizza and bowl of pasta at Torino, we prefer visiting this restaurant in the morning. Outstanding bakery items like croissants and focaccia give Mi Quang a run for its money when it comes to where to eat the best breakfast in Da Nang.

Pro Tip
Not in the mood to walk for your morning croissant? Torino delivers their baked items for free within a three-kilometer radius and for a nominal fee for those further away.

Torino Restaurant & Bakery is located at 164 Châu Thị Vĩnh Tế, Bắc Mỹ Phú, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Chinese Food At Bao Đại Nhân – Permanently Closed

Spicy Tofu at Bao Dai Nhan in Da Nang Vietnam
This plate of tofu with cayenne peppers reminded us of ma po tofu. That’s a good thing. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Considering the relatively close proximity between Vietnam and China, you might think that there’s a lot of good Chinese food in Da Nang. You would be incorrect with a few exceptions.

On the beach side of Da Nang, Bao Đại Nhân fills the Chinese food void with a menu full of Chinese classics. Creatures of habit, we typically order tofu with cayenne pepper (Bao Đại Nhân’s awesome take on Mapo Tofu) and dumplings with mushroom and meat to share for dinner. Both dishes are addictive for these two fans of bold Chinese flavors.

Pro Tip
Vietnamese beer goes just fine with Chinese food. Don’t hesitate to order a bottle or two with your meal.

Bao Đại Nhân was located at 14 An Thượng 3, Bắc Mỹ Phú, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam. It is now permanently closed.

Hamburgers At Burger Bros.

Cheeseburger at Burger Bros in Da Nang Vietnam
Big and juicy, this cheeseburger at Burger Bros. is our favorite in Da Nang. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

The hamburger is a global phenomenon that can’t be stopped. We’ve eaten great burgers in cities like Lyon and bad burgers in cities that shall go unnamed. Now we can add Da Nang to our ever growing good hamburger city list.

You’ll find the city’s best hamburgers and fries at Burger Bros., a popular stand owned by a Japanese surfer and popular with Korean tourists. Apparently, a Korean celebrity was filmed eating there and added to the joint’s cult status.

Discover the world’s best burgers.

With the mantra “no burger, no life”, Burger Bros. serves hamburgers, chicken burgers, pork burgers, fish burgers and veggie burgers. Heck, they even serve chili burgers. Double burgers are also on the menu but that may just be overkill… or is it?

Burger Bros. is located at 31 An Thượng 4, Bắc Mỹ Phú, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Ramen At Chin Mesh

Ramen at Chin Meshi in Da Nang Vietnam
The shoyu ramen at Chin Meshi provides a tasted of Japan in Vietnam. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

After eating top-notch ramen in Tokyo, Osaka and New York, it’s fair to say that we know good ramen when we slurp it. In Da Nang, we slurped good ramen at Chin Meshi.

Located around the corner from Brewman Coffee (see below), Chin Meshi serves Japanese favorites and Sichuan dishes (think ma po tofu). We enjoyed big bowls of miso and shoyu ramen during our visit there. The flavors took us straight back to Japan but the prices were lower since we were in Vietnam. Winning!

Chin Meshi is located at 23 Thái Phiên, Phước Ninh, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Tacos At Taco NGON

Taco at Taco Ngon Da Nang Vietnam
You’re missing out if you haven’t eaten a taco topped with crispy chicken and wasabi coleslaw. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Taco NGON may be the most truly global restaurant in all of Da Nang. Why? This casual eatery serves Taiwanese influenced Mexican tacos prepared by Vietnamese cooks.

Not only does Taco NGON make its own tortillas, but it also lets diners ‘fuse’ their own topping combinations. Protein options include pork, fish, chicken and tofu. The fun comes from creative toppings like wasabi coleslaw, yogurt salsa, ginger lime and tamarind BBQ sauce.

NGON literally translates to tasty. We’re pleased to report that Taco NGON lives up to its name. As if that’s not enough, diners get a free taco for every ten they order.

Pro Tip
You won’t be disappointed if you like tequila with your tacos. Taco NGON’s menu includes both tequila shots and margaritas.

Taco NGON is located at 80/59 Lê Hữu An Hải Đông, Sơn Trà, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Korean BBQ At The Galbi

Korean Barbecue at The Galbi in Da Nang Vietnam
Though we just ordered one meat, our meal at The Galbi was quite a feast. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Eating Korean BBQ in Da Nang makes perfect sense considering the vast number of Korean tourists who fly to their version of Miami Beach every day of the week. Da Nang’s Korean BBQ restaurants cater to these tourists by cooking up all kinds of meat and serving them with an array of Korean side dishes.

Curious to try the local version of this international cuisine, we popped into The Galbi right near our Danang beach apartment. Decorated with animated pigs and staffed with uniformed servers, the open-air The Galbi looks like a Korean BBQ joint should look. But how was the food?

Grill at The Galbi in Da Nang Vietnam
Cooks fired up our marinated bulgogi on a table-top griddle. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Since galbi literally translates from Korean to rib in English, Beef Rib Prime is the top item on the menu. We skipped this option at the equivalent of $22.50 US for 200 grams and instead ordered 400 grams of Charcoal Bulgogi for the equivalent of $13.50 US.

Though many consider Korean barbecue to be a splurge meal in Da Nang, we found the meal to be a tremendous value. Not only did we have plenty of meat to share, but servers brought a feast of Korean side dishes and condiments to our table along with the meat.

We didn’t know where to start as the little plates kept appearing on our table. Once we got our bearings, we dug into the kimchee and didn’t stop digging until the last piece of lettuce was history.

Pro Tip
Don’t feel compelled to order starters or sides at The Galbi. These items are all included when you order meat.

The Galbi is located at 129-130 Hoàng Kế Viêm, Bắc Mỹ Phú, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Fried Chicken at Gà Rán Mr Thịnh

Combo Meal at Mr. Thinh in Da Nang Vietnam
Winner. Winner. Chicken Dinner. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Fried chicken is one of those foods that’s so wrong that it’s right. We wouldn’t want to eat it every night due to factors like cholesterol and calories, but we must admit to enjoying fried chicken every once in a while.

Most of the great fried chicken we’ve eaten has been in American cities like New Orleans and Nashville. While the chicken we’ve eaten at Da Nang’s Gà Rán Mr Thịnh may not quite rival Willie Mae’s or Prince’s in originality, the local Da Nang chicken chain comes pretty darn close in quality.

Discover more of the best fried chicken in the world.

Budget travelers will scurry when they learn that a plump piece of fried chicken with fries costs the equivalent of a US dollar. If there’s a better fried chicken bargain in Da Nang, we have yet to find it.

Pro Tip
Don’t expect an American sized portion of fries at Gà Rán Mr Thịnh. The staff weighs the precious cargo for each order.

Gà Rán Mr Thịnh has multiple locations in Da Nang.

Vegetarian Restaurants In Da Nang

Mushrooms at Revolution of Mushroom in Da Nang Vietnam
Vegetarian food is easy to find in Da Nang. We ate this mushroom dish at ROM – Revolution of Mushroom. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Even though we’re not Vegetarians or Vegans, we respect that many of our readers choose this culinary lifestyle. As such, we scoured Da Nang for the best meat-free options and present the following recommendations:

ROM – Revolution of Mushroom – Permanently Closed

Noodles at Revolution of Mushroom in Danang Vietnam
The only thing missing from this spicy Korean dish was meat, but we didn’t miss it at all. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

We can’t say that we’re the world’s most vegetally focused food travelers, but when we taste vegetarian cuisine that piques our palates, we definitely take notice. Such is the case with ROM – Revolution of Mushroom.

Anyone who cooks should know that mushrooms are the one food outside the animal kingdom that generates the kind of deep umami-filled flavors that complete a meal. We don’t know if the food is truly ‘revolutionary’ at ROM but simple dishes like spicy noodles (Korean style) and mushroom fried rice offer deep flavors that will satisfy even the hungriest of carnivores.

We should also mention that ROM’s dining room in a charming romantic upstairs space is a great spot for a quiet, romantic dinner for two. Better yet, join a couple friends so you can order more dishes to share.

Pro Tip
The menu, which offers cheese items, is not strictly Vegan but there are more than enough Vegan options if that’s how you roll.

ROM – Revolution of Mushroom was located at 87 Đường Hoàng Văn Thụ, Phước Ninh, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam. It has permanently closed.

Roots Vegetarian Cafe

Smoothie bowls provide a colorful start to the day at Roots Plant Based Cafe. This Tropical Pitaya Bowl has red dragon fruit, mango, banana, coconut milk, shredded coconut, chia seeds and Cinnamon raisin granola. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Vegetarian and Vegan eaters will have an easy time during their Da Nang stay once they find Roots, a plant-based cafe. Located near the beach, Roots serves healthy foods without meat or extra additives.

Appealing to western travelers, the Roots’ space is minimalistic and has comfortable outdoor seating. In addition to smoothie bowls and cold-press juices, the cafe serves heartier foods like falafel bowls and meat-free burgers.

Pro Tip
You can purchase eco-friendly household items at Roots in addition to food products.

Roots Plant Based Cafe is located at 1 An Thuong 32, Da Nang, Vietnam 55

Da Nang Markets

Market in Danang Vietnam
Locals shop for all kinds of items at Da Nang markets, not just food. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

As fun and cheap as it is to eat out in Da Nang, sometimes a traveler is happy to eat at home, whether home is an apartment or a hotel room. That’s where Da Nang markets come into play.

Chợ Bắc Mỹ An or the Mỹ An Market sells a range of fruits, vegetables, meats and seafood relatively close to the beach area. Markets like Con Market and Han Market do the same in the center of town. As a bonus, these sprawling markets have food stands where shoppers can stop for a cheap meal or fruit smoothie while shopping.

The Vincom Center is a great choice for bigger shopping sprees. Not only can you buy bags of groceries, but you can also eat lunch and buy western brand clothing like Levis and Sketchers.

Vinmart fits the bill for quick purchases like Oreos and soda water. Another option, K Market, open 24/7, is also great for quick purchases but with the addition of Korean food favorites like kimchi and Korean style ramen. K Market is located just blocks from the beach.

Pro Tip
Be kind to the environment and bring a cute shopping bag when you shop at markets in Da Nang.

Chợ Bắc Mỹ An is located at25 Nguyễn Bá Lân, Bắc Mỹ An, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.
Con Market is located at 269 Ông Ích Khiêm, Hải Châu 2, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.
Han Market is located at 119 Trần Phú, Hải Châu 1, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Da Nang Coffee Shops

Cappuccino at Why Roastery in Danang Vietnam
If you’re going to drink a latte, it might as well be pretty like this one at Why Roastery. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

As our readers are well aware, the 2foodtrippers are big fans of third wave coffee drinks like cappuccinos, lattes and flat whites. We always seek the best coffee wherever we travel. Da Nang is no exception to this rule.

In Da Nang, sophisticated coffee drinkers no longer have to settle for overly sweet, overly bitter Ca Phe Sua (i.e. Vietnamese coffee) served in generic cafes. The city serves quality coffee on both sides of the river at coffee shops ranging from intimate cafes to modern coffee palaces.

We make exceptions for Vietnamese coffee when it comes with a view. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

And the best part? All of our recommended Da Nang coffee shops have great internet for digital nomads.

Gold Star Coffee

Barrista at Gold Star Coffee in Danang Vietnam
Nguyen Thi Kim Hue is one of our favorite Da Nang baristas at Gold Star Coffee. She always greeted us with cold water and a warm smile. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

It’s rare to use value-priced and specialty coffee in the same sentence. Gold Star Coffee bucks this trend by serving excellent coffee at prices that make us scratch our heads and smile.

Don’t get us wrong – there’s plenty of cheaper coffee in Da Nang. However, Gold Star isn’t your typical Da Nang coffee shop. It’s a legitimate cafe where baristas prepare specialty coffee drinks with care and serve them with smiles and glasses of cold water.

Small and simple, Gold Star’s low tables and overly convivial atmosphere don’t make for a great workspace despite the cafe’s fast internet. However, it’s a great place for a coffee to start the day or for a mid-day break with expat friends you already know or are meeting for the very first time.

Pro Tip
You can buy ground coffee to enjoy at your apartment with a French Press coffee maker.

Gold Star Coffee is located at 16 Thái Phiên, Phước Ninh, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Why Roastery – Permanently Closed

Le Hoang Quang Thien creates latte art at Why Roastery. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Tucked away off busy Châu Thị Vĩnh Tế, Why Roastery is one of our favorite Da Nang coffee shops due to its chill atmosphere, solid coffee and friendly service. We enjoy working at this cafe and who can blame us.

We like to nab a table in the air-conditioned back room and spend the day at Why with our computers. Drinks are moderately priced and range from lattes and cappuccinos to smoothies and fraps.

One note – you’ll either love or hate the cafe’s soundtrack with its mix of western and Vietnamese pop music. We find it oddly entertaining.

Pro Tip
Expect a cookie with your coffee. It’s up to you whether you want to dip or dunk it.

Why Roastery was located at 64 Ung Văn Khiêm, Bắc Mỹ Phú, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam. It has permanently closed.

43 Factory Coffee

Phan Van Quang uses latest coffee technology to craft beverages at 43 Factory. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

A destination from the day it opened, 43 Factory serves modern coffee and beer in a setting that attracts locals, digital nomads and tourists. These disparate groups may initially visit to take a selfie in the striking space designed by 85 Design’s To Huu Dung, but many return to enjoy expertly crafted drinks in a modern, air-conditioned setting.

Cold Brew Nitro at 43 Factory in Da Nang Vietnam
43 Factory pushes the caffeine envelope with cutting-drinks like this nitro latte. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

43 Factory’s coffee-centric menu goes beyond the norm with unique options like nitro lattes served from a tap. The cafe also taps C-Brewmaster craft beer for those more in the mood for an adult beverage. Additionally, 43 Factory offers outdoor table seating nestled in a stylish moat surrounding the coffee shop. The outdoor tables even offer power outlets.

Prices skew higher at 43 Factory, though they’re still lower than western prices by a longshot. Some people may disagree, but we’re happy to pay a bit more for quality – especially when it comes to coffee. We have no problem spending a bit more to enjoy coffee in 43 Factory’s breathtaking space.

Fun Fact
43 refers to the number that appears in Da Nang license plates.

43 Factory Coffee is located at Lô 419, 422 đường Ngô Thì Sỹ, Bắc Mỹ An, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng, Vietnam.

Brewman Coffee Concept

Brewman Coffee Concept answers the question of where were the beans were grown before we even ask the question. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Brewman Coffee Concept is a great option if you’re looking to drink coffee in the city. Many of the coffee shops on this side of the river tend to serve the Vietnamese Ca Phe that we eschew, making Brewman a true oasis in a sea of mediocre coffee.

Brewman serves a full range of crafted espresso drinks in a stylish space designed by To Huu Dung of 43 Factory fame. However, the drink to try here is the Ca Phe Dua (Coconut Coffee), a sweet treat of a beverage served with a side of cold brew.

Pro Tip
Brewman Coffee Concept is located at the end of an alley. Don’t give up if you don’t see the hidden cafe right away.

Brewman Coffee Concept is located at 21 Thái Phiên, Phước Ninh, Q. Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

SIX ON SIX Cafe

Omelette at Six on Six in Da Nang Vietnam
Sometimes we just want an omelet for breakfast. That’s when we go to SIX ON SIX Cafe in Da Nang. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

SIX ON SIX Cafe is a go-to spot for those days when we’re craving western brunch food like omelets and breakfast burritos. The cafe also serves crafted coffee drinks in a garden setting with both indoor and outdoor table service.

Unlike our other favorite Da Nang coffee shops that source beans from Africa and South America, SIX ON SIX exclusively brews arabica beans from the Central Highlands region of Vietnam. Whether you order a flat white or a Ca Phe, expect Vietnamese coffee beans when you drink coffee at SIX ON SIX.

Pro Tip
Arrive early to get a table if you’re planning to work. Some of the tables are more conducive to chilling than working.

SIX ON SIX Cafe is located at 14/11 Lưu Quang Thuận, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng, Vietnam.

Nối Cafe

Egg Coffee at Noie Cafe in Da Nang
Our hearts runneth over for egg coffee. It’s a true Vietnamese culinary treasure. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

As much as we don’t like Vietnamese coffee is as much as we do like egg coffee, a decadent variation of Vietnamese coffee that tastes like liquid dessert.

Since egg coffee was invented and perfected in Hanoi, we didn’t expect to find a good version in Central Vietnam. Imagine our delight when we found great egg coffee at Nối Cafe in Da Nang.

Nối Cafe is not easy to find since it’s hidden in plain site down an alley. Like many good things in life, it’s worth the extra effort to find this cute cafe filled with funky Communist design elements. And egg coffee. Don’t forget the egg coffee.

Pro Tip
Don’t plan to drink egg coffee every day while you’re in Da Nang. The rich concoction is more of a special treat than a daily beverage.

Nối Cafe is located at K113/18 Nguyễn Chí Thanh, Hải Châu 1, Q. Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Da Nang Bars

Bartender Tuan Anh Ho in Da Nang Vietnam
Mixologist Tuan Anh Ho is a fixture in the Da Nang cocktail scene. He created the award-winning Lotus cocktail among many other local favorites. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Da Nang nightlife is not difficult to find. From tables full of locals chanting ‘Mot, Hai, Ba! Dzo!‘ as they down large amounts of beer at local cafes to expats ordering mojitos at Da Nang bars, nighttime is drinking time in Da Nang. These are our favorites:

Long Bar

The Long Bar in Da Nang Vietnam
The long bar is only one distinguishing feature at the L_O_N_G Bar at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort. Note the classic decor and punkah fans. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

The Long Bar is the fanciest bar in Da Nang and also the most exclusive. This exclusivity isn’t borne from attitude but rather from the bar’s location at the tony InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort.

Living up to its name, the Long Bar is indeed lengthy, providing plenty of spots to sit as well as a row of colorful, pillow-laden daybeds where guests can lounge with an ocean view. Though the ocean provides a pleasant breeze, large punkah fans keep the air swaying while giving the bar a unique aesthetic.

Drinks at The Long Bar in Da Nang Vietnam
Though some guests choose to sit in hanging baskets, we were happy to nab one of the beachfront daybeds. It was a great spot to enjoy our Charming Monkey and Lotus cocktails. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

The Long Bar’s menu is fun to read and even more fun to drink. Specialty cocktails like the signature Lotus provide an alcohol-infused journey through Vietnam. As a fun twist and inspired by the nearby Monkey Mountain, the bar’s monkey cocktails are served in monkey-shaped mugs.

Pro Tip
Take advantage of the Long Bar’s daily happy hour when select drinks are available on a buy-one-get-one-free basis.

The Long Bar is located inside the Intercontinental Hotel at Hoàng Sa, Thọ Quang, Sơn Trà, Đà Nẵng, Vietnam.

Wanderlust Cafe & Cocktail Bar

Cocktail at Wanderlust Cafe in Da Nang Vietnam
Wanderlust Cafe is a great spot near the beach in Da Nang for crafted cocktails. Pictured here is a Tropical Chill, one of the bar’s signature cocktails. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

Located steps away from the beach, Wanderlust Cafe and Cocktail Bar is a great place to kick back at the end of the day and enjoy drinks with friends. The relaxed, beachy vibe is enough to motivate a visit, but the crafted cocktails motivate visitors to return again and again.

If you’re a fan or student of mixology, a visit to Wanderlust is a must. The only challenge during your visit will be deciding what to order. Whatever you choose, there will be no regrets. Not only are the drinks fantastic but they’re also reasonably priced. A true win-win situation!

Ngô Hữu Chí presents a Heavenly Fire cocktail to a thirsty customer at Wanderlust Cafe. This signature cocktail has eclectic ingredients including vodka, cinnamon syrup, passion juice, orange liqueur, lime juice, chili and egg white. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

The award-winning Lotus cocktail is a contender with its Flor de Cana 4 Year White Rum, Raspberry Liqueur, Lotus Syrup and Lime Juice. If that doesn’t float your boat, we recommend the Mango Tango with Svedka Vodka, Fresh Mango Purée, Sam Dua Tea, Lime Juice, Fresh Mint and Cinnamon Syrup.

Interestingly, the Lotus cocktail won its award at The L_O_N_G bar and is now that bar’s signature drink. If a visit to the Intercontinental isn’t in your budget, head to the Wanderlust and taste the original version instead.

Pro Tip
Don’t plan to sip your cocktail through a plastic straw. Wanderlust supports the environment with sustainable straws.

Wanderlust Cafe & Cocktail Bar is located at An Thượng 30, Bắc Mỹ Phú, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 55000, Vietnam.

7 Bridges Brewing Taproom

With 7 Bridges Brewery, Da Nang is a force in Vietnam’s burgeoning craft beer scene. The team at 7 Bridges brews a full selection of beers locally which drinkers can enjoy at bars and hotels throughout the city as well as at the 7 Bridges taproom.

When you drink at 7 Bridges, expect to find a lot of American-style IPA’s. Originally from Southern California, head brewer Darren Provenzao infuses a hoppy touch after a stint at Heart of Darkness in Saigon, one of Vietnam’s top craft breweries.

Though this brewery’s beers mostly feature hoppy flavor profiles, the brewpub offers great options like rich, dark lager in addition to its range of IPA standards. Whichever style you prefer, you’ll surely enjoy the nightly 3-hour ‘hoppy’ hour featuring discounted beers and one of the best spots in town to watch the day turn to night.

Pro Tip
Be prepared for a climb if you plan to drink beer on the roof deck since the taproom does not have an elevator. The extra effort is worth it for an expansive view of the Dragon Bridge and complimentary popcorn.

7 Bridges Brewing Taproom is located at 493 Đường Trần Hưng Đạo, An Hải Trung, Sơn Trà, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

My Casa

Mojito at My Casa in Danang Vietnam
Mojitos are an ideal drink in Da Nang. We drank this one at My Casa. | Image: ©2foodtrippers

My Casa is a restaurant that serves a fun menu with eclectic Spanish and Italian cuisine. To us, though, the real draw is My Casa’s happy hour when tasty cocktails like mojitos and pina coladas are available for half the price.

We first visited My Casa for a romantic dinner and returned with friends to share a couple rounds of drinks. What can we say? We’re suckers for good drinks and good deals.

Pro Tip
Be prepared for a climb if you plan to drink beer on the roof deck since the taproom does not have an elevator. The extra effort is worth it for an expansive view of the Dragon Bridge and complimentary popcorn.

My Casa is located at 53 Morrison, Phước Mỹ, Sơn Trà, Đà Nẵng 553422, Vietnam.

"Think of Mi Quang as Vietnam’s answer to tagliatelle in Bologna, Italy." Hi men, you have a good imagination to write that !!!! Tagliatelle are made with flour and eggs, at sight they are yellow; my quang are made with rice flour and water, at white sight. Tagliatelle testing are well structured and rich in flavor, vice versa my quang are dull with a very acid taste. Maybe was better to compare it with chinese flat noodles (Yunnan and Guangdong) !!!!!
