Discover the best place to eat White Rose Dumplings in Hoi An, the city where the Vietnamese food favorite was invented.

After falling in love with white rose dumplings at the Hoi An Central Market, we wanted to try the local Vietnamese food specialty at the restaurant where they’re actually made. That’s how we ended up at White Rose Restaurant just outside of the city’s tourist area.
Other than beverages, the restaurant only has two items on the menu – the famous dumplings and crispy wontons.
White Rose Restaurant uses a secret recipe to make its signature dumplings, stuffing little rounds of white rice dough with pork or shrimp and then squeezing them together in a shape resembling flowers. As if this isn’t enough, the restaurant tops the dumplings with crispy shallots and serves them with a savory shrimp broth and condiments.

Rumor has it that the dumpling dough includes special water from the city’s ancient Ba Le well. Perhaps this is why the restaurant supplies its dumplings all over town.
