As we start this blog, we’re also planning a trip. A big trip. A trip that requires planning. For us, planning is a fun and integral part of the trip itself.
The planning started when we booked our flights into London and out of Lyon. We booked the tickets ten weeks ago.
At that time, our trip seemed far away. Real yet abstract. Suddenly, we leave in ten days.
After we booked the flights, we then started negotiating the itinerary. For us, this negotiation process proves the theory that two heads are better than one.
Next was researching and booking hotels. We’re now selecting a few restaurants that require reservations. This is all a lot of work, but for us it’s fun work.
We like to use various research tools when planning a trip. For this trip, we have used books, e-books, the internet, applications and personal recommendations. Gone are the days of relying on out-dated books alone. We’re partial to Lonely Planet, Rick Steves, Michelin and Tripadvisor – just to name a few sources.
We think we have planned a kick-ass itinerary, and we hope that this blog does it justice.
Needless to say, we’re looking forward to our trip. We’re also looking forward to our blogging journey.
Thanks for coming along!
