Layovers can be a pain, but they can also be fun when you use the opportunity to check out local cuisine. This is what we did with our layover lunch.
Considering how great the food is in Lyon France, it’s a good thing that we like to walk. We loved it all, especially the markets and the bouchons.
Lyon France is a city alive with light, color and flavor.
We started the day in Burgundy and ended it in Beaujolais. Needless to say, we drank lots of great wine.
We knew that we were in for a unique experience when a billy goat greeted us upon our arrival at the stone gate of La Ruchotte.
We drove and tasted our way around the Côte-d’Or where we drank plenty of Montrachet and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Burgundy wine tasting is the best!
Our dinner at Burgundy’s Maison Lameloise was the ultimate destination dining experience. The 3 star Michelin restaurants pulled out all the stops from the creative amuse bouches to the amazing cheese cart.
We got our first taste of the French Alps in Annecy. We will never forget the stunning sunsets and delicious cheese.
