Our dinner at Burgundy’s Maison Lameloise was the ultimate destination dining experience. The 3 star Michelin restaurants pulled out all the stops from the creative amuse bouches to the amazing cheese cart.
We spent a busy day in Beaune France where we ate great food, drank great wine and toured the city.
We got our first taste of the French Alps in Annecy. We will never forget the stunning sunsets and delicious cheese.
We packed a lot of eating and walking into our taste of London in 44 hours. Highlights were the Borough Market, Portobello Road and the Tate Modern.
It always happens this way when we fly. We enter the plane, exhausted and eager to sleep. Sleep comes easy for us, even in the world of coach travel. And, just as relaxation takes over and we drift into dreamland, the flight attendant wakes us up to offer a choice of chicken or beef cannelloni.
We’re on the cusp of our next adventure. We have had many these past six years, but the best adventure is always the next adventure. This next adventure is to France with a 44 hour stop in London. We admit it. We are frugal travelers, but we’re not true budget travelers anymore. Gone are the days when it was cool to spend $2 for a no-frills room in a Thai guesthouse or below market for a lumpy bed at the Days Inn in Asheville.
This being said, we have recently splurged on iPads to use on our upcoming trip and beyond. We figured that the iPads would be easier to carry than our laptops. Plus, blogging on our smartphones just doesn’t appeal. It’s just been a week since the purchase, and we’re already hooked.
